Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of I Ching Oracle. Please read them before you use the site or buy anything.
1 · Acceptance of these terms
By accessing, browsing or using I Ching Oracle (the “Site”) — including drawing a card, reading an interpretation, browsing the deck, posting in the community forum, or buying anything — you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.
If you use the Site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
2 · What the service is
The Site offers an interactive card deck and interpretive texts built on the I Ching (the Book of Changes) and traditional Chinese metaphysics, together with optional account, community and paid features.
We may add, change or withdraw features at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular feature, card, rarity tier or piece of content will remain available.
3 · Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site, and at least 16 years old to create an account, post in the forum, or make a purchase if you are in the EEA or the UK. If you are below the age of majority where you live, you may use the paid features only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for everything done through your account.
4 · Pricing
All prices are stated in United States dollars (USD) and are shown on the Site before you reach checkout. The price you see at checkout is the final price you pay.
| Item | Type | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Daily card draw | Free — one per day | $0.00 |
| Extra Draw — one additional hexagram draw | One-time credit | $9.90 |
Where taxes apply, they are included in the displayed price or shown separately at checkout, as required by the law of your jurisdiction. We may change prices at any time; a change never affects a purchase you have already completed.
5 · Payment
Payments on the Site are processed by Waffo Pancake, which acts as our payment processor and as merchant of record for the transaction. Waffo Pancake is the entity that appears on your card statement and that handles the transaction, its related enquiries and any returns.
- We accept the payment methods presented at checkout by Waffo Pancake. We do not control which methods are offered.
- Your card number, expiry date and security code are entered on Waffo Pancake’s infrastructure. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We receive only a confirmation containing the order reference, amount, currency and status.
- All purchases are one-time payments. There is no subscription, no recurring billing, no automatic renewal and no auto top-up. Nothing needs to be cancelled after a purchase.
- You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method you supply.
- If a payment is declined or reversed, we may withhold or withdraw the corresponding credits.
6 · Delivery of purchases
Paid items on the Site are digital content, delivered electronically. There is no physical shipment.
- An extra draw is credited to your browser session and your account record immediately after the payment is confirmed, and is normally usable within a few seconds.
- If a payment succeeds but the item is not credited within 24 hours, contact us at the address in Section 17 with your order reference or the email you used, and we will resolve it.
- Credits are personal to your account. They have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money.
7 · Refunds and cancellation
We want you to be treated fairly, and we have kept this policy deliberately simple.
7.1 · Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy reduces rights you have under mandatory consumer law. In particular:
- EU and UK: as a consumer you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. Where you buy digital content that is supplied immediately, that right is preserved until you first use the credit, and you expressly consent to immediate supply and acknowledge the loss of the withdrawal right once the content has been delivered and used.
- Australia: our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a remedy if a service is not delivered with due care and skill, or is not fit for purpose.
- Mainland China: nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China.
7.2 · How to request a refund
Email us at the address in Section 17 with the email you used at checkout and your order reference (it begins with xdr_). We acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days and process approved refunds within 5 business days. The time for the money to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer.
7.3 · Cancellation
Because the Site sells one-time credits and not subscriptions, there is nothing to cancel after a purchase. You may abandon a checkout at any time before completing payment, and no charge will be made. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, or by emailing us.
8 · AI-generated content
- AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions or imprecision. It is provided as cultural and entertainment material, not as fact or advice.
- The I Ching texts, hexagram names, trigram symbols and other classical materials we draw on are part of the public cultural heritage and are not AI-generated.
- If you believe any content on the Site infringes a right you hold, email us at the address in Section 17 and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it promptly.
9 · Not prediction, not professional advice
I Ching Oracle is a cultural and entertainment product. It offers symbolic interpretation for reflection and enjoyment. It does not predict the future and it does not produce factual statements about your life, health, finances or relationships.
Nothing on the Site constitutes medical, psychological, legal, financial, tax or investment advice, and nothing on the Site should be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. If you face a decision with significant consequences, consult someone qualified to help you with it.
You are solely responsible for any decision you take after using the Site. If you are in crisis or think you may be, please contact a qualified professional or an emergency service in your country rather than using this Site.
10 · Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to:
- break any applicable law, or infringe the rights of anyone else;
- post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that exploits or endangers minors — content of this kind is removed and the account responsible is terminated;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- upload malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers or other users’ accounts;
- scrape, crawl or otherwise extract the Site’s content at scale, or use automated means to obtain credits, without our written permission;
- resell, sublicense or redistribute paid content as your own product;
- interfere with the Site’s normal operation, including by circumventing rate limits, paywalls or the daily draw limit;
- use the Site to provide a live divination or fortune-telling service to third parties.
We may remove content, suspend or terminate an account, and forfeit unused credits where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
If you see content that breaks these rules, report it to the address in Section 17. Reports are reviewed by the operator, and we aim to respond within 2 business days.
11 · Intellectual property
The Site’s name, visual design, card layouts, illustrations, code and written interpretations are owned by the operator or licensed to the operator, and are protected by copyright and related rights. You may view, use and share the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not copy, republish, redistribute or sell the Site’s content, or use it to train a machine-learning model, without our prior written permission. The classical I Ching texts, hexagram names and trigram symbols are public cultural heritage and are free for anyone to use.
By posting in the community forum, you keep ownership of your words but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute them on the Site. You can remove a post at any time, which ends the licence for future distribution.
12 · Data, privacy and security
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary:
- Drawing a card happens in your browser; the result is not sent to us.
- We hold personal information only when you create an account, post in the forum or buy something.
- Card payment data is processed by Waffo Pancake and is never stored on our servers. Waffo Pancake acts as our data processor for payment information and as merchant of record for the transaction.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information at any time by writing to us.
13 · Third-party links and services
The Site may link to websites and services we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. When you follow such a link, the destination’s own terms apply. Where we have an affiliate relationship with a linked service, we will disclose it clearly on the page carrying the link.
14 · Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any content is accurate or complete.
As explained in Section 9, the Site offers symbolic interpretation for cultural and entertainment purposes. We are not responsible for any decision you make, or any action you take or refrain from taking, in reliance on the Site’s content, or for any loss claimed to result from such a decision.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Site or these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15 · Changes, interruption and termination
- Changes to these terms. We may revise these terms. For material changes we will give at least 14 days’ notice by posting a prominent notice on the Site and, where we hold your email address, by email. The version number and effective date are shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Site after the change takes effect means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Site; if you have unused credits, you may request a refund under Section 7.
- Interruption. We may suspend or modify the Site for maintenance, security or operational reasons. We aim to give notice where we can, but an urgent security fix may be applied immediately.
- Termination by you. You may stop using the Site and delete your account at any time.
- Termination by us. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Site. Where we discontinue the Site and you hold unused credits, we will refund them.
16 · Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Mainland China, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of Mainland China have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or the Site.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts where the law allows it. Before starting formal proceedings, please write to us — most issues are settled in one email.
17 · Contact information
All enquiries go to the same place, and every message is read by the operator personally. Write in English or Chinese; we reply in the language you use. We aim to respond within 48 hours on business days.
Version 1.0 · effective 2 October 2026. We keep a version log of every change to these terms.
